You amaze me the way you work so methodologically, completing section by section. I build everything up gradually overall instead. Is this how you always work? It's fun to see.

I only do this with pastel. I just can't help myself. When I paint in watercolor, I work the painting as a whole and the painting comes out much looser (which I love as well). But with pastel I just get so absorbed in the drawing, closely observing the detail and making each piece of the puzzle work. I know this process goes against the rules of harmony and unity, but it works for me. I work each section as it occurs in space, which adds to the perspective I think. I have never seen anyone else pastel, so this is the way I could make it work for me. Thank you for your comment.

What also surprises me is that you get so much detail from such a simple drawing. I especially appreciate that part.
